The Myriad Transition Management System (TMS) is a web-based application designed to support the end-to-end transition process for financial advisors becoming independent business owners. The platform facilitates collaboration across teams, provides both high-level and granular dashboards, and serves as a central hub for managing various business needs, from tracking onboarding milestones to handling support tickets post-launch.

Work process

To support this growing business model, Myriad Financial Advisors partnered with Honeycomb Software to modernize the application, improve system scalability, and introduce new functionality. The objective was to create a platform that could seamlessly manage large amounts of data and meet the diverse needs of financial professionals. 

The Honeycomb team began by conducting a technical audit and strategic discovery sessions to identify performance bottlenecks and business needs. A solution architect proposed a new cloud infrastructure and selected technologies better suited for performance, security, and long-term maintainability. 

The team then fully rewrote the platform using ASP.NET Core on the backend and AngularJS on the frontend, migrated the application to AWS, and introduced a microservice-based architecture to break the system into manageable, composable components. The updated interface was rebuilt as a Single Page Application (SPA) to enhance responsiveness and user interaction. 

Honeycomb Software prioritized a collaborative approach, ensuring seamless transition of knowledge, iterative testing, and proactive adjustments to meet the client’s evolving goals.

Result

The result is a robust, cloud-based platform that is secure, scalable, and easy to maintain. The system is now equipped to handle complex advisor transitions, offer dynamic dashboards, and support operational tasks after the advisor’s business launch. 

The main improvements include: 

  • Full migration to Azure (for hosting) and AWS (for secure data storage) 
  • SPA implementation significantly improved performance and responsiveness 
  • Microservice architecture allows faster updates, isolated issue resolution, and modular scalability
