About the project

theDMSeffect is a drawing and document management system originally developed in 2008 by Drawing Managers, a company with decades of experience in drafting and managing technical documentation. The platform was created to solve recurring challenges such as outdated drawings, inconsistent revisions, and scattered document storage — issues their team repeatedly faced in real-world projects.

Since its launch, theDMSeffect has grown into a full-featured system enabling users to manage and contribute to an organization’s information library.

Recently, Honeycomb Software was brought in to modernize and extend the platform, enhancing its usability, scalability, and technical capabilities. The updated solution was designed with a strong focus on user accessibility while maintaining the robust functionality expected from a comprehensive drawing and document management system.

Work process

To bring the client’s vision to life, the team conducted extensive research, employed user-centered design principles, and developed a fully functional mobile application prototype with seamless user experience:

 

  • UX research: The Honeycomb Software experts carefully researched users who experience bruxism, its impact on them, and how biofeedback technology could offer a practical solution.

 

  • User-centric design: The team also developed an intuitive biofeedback app interface and optimized functionality to ensure accessibility for users with varying levels of technical proficiency.

 

  • Prototype development: They created a high-fidelity interactive prototype, which simulated biofeedback charts, providing a compelling proof of concept. This prototype served as a key asset for investor presentations, helping to secure interest and potential funding for future development.

Result

Through its collaboration with Honeycomb Software, Abrux explored innovative approaches to bruxism management. The team developed initial design concepts and an interactive prototype, showcasing the potential user experience for a non-invasive biofeedback-powered solution for bruxism.

Key envisioned benefits included:

  • A natural, non-invasive alternative to traditional treatments.
  • Potential improvements in user comfort and sleep quality.
  • A cost-effective approach, making relief more accessible to a broader audience.

The design served as a foundation for Abrux’s vision, supporting their efforts to refine and potentially bring the solution to market in the future.
